As it is a shallow bowl, scooping food up from it is easier than doing so on a plate.

It is very light, so it''s easy to hold and handle. Definiely helpful if you wash dishes by hand. Despite its light and thin glass body construction, this thing is pretty durable and lasts for decades, if you don''t bang it around. I have a full dinnerware set plus some serving set and now these pasta plates. I personally have never seen them stain either and are as white as they''ve ever been. Totally happy.
