A little bigger and thick but design covers everything I was looking for in hard to reach areas in kitchen. However, yesterday, as I was unplugging a small appliance from the front, the cover popped off. Not only that, the unit was hot to touch, as in nearly burning hot! So I immediately unplugged everything. And only one appliance was plugged in and had been used, a countertop air fryer. Odd thing, the supposed voltage amp coverage of the surge protector is much greater than the appliance, so there is no reason it should have been running hot. Glad I caught it by accident in time, a fire would have been worse!!! Basically, great design, cheap materials that will fail. See more It is a solid product and will do the job, however has a couple opportunities:
1) It will block the whole wall outlet. Due to it’s size it occupies the whole space, even if you try rotating.

2) Unplugging a device can pull off the whole strip bar from the wall. The strip itself is a little bit heavy, so you need to use your hands to prevent from detachment.

3) Led indicators not easily noticed. The lights use a very light green light, barely noticeable. While the led light indicator plays a very important safety protection role, designers should improve this.

4) Rotating ad per instructions, can damage the product. The 3 pins on the plug are so weak and the plug base is so hard to rotate that pins will break if you use a screwdriver to rotate the plug. That happened to me. I tried to repair the ground pin patching with a bit of copper from a wire. Ground light now gets off if I touch the strip ( got kind of sensitive) and I don’t know if ground protection is working anymore.

I give them 3 stars for these opportunities above. Hopefully, the “PowerRiver” brand guys come with and improved product version.

The second unit I have still feels flimsy and like it has a few broken mounts, but it''s holding in one piece for now.

As for compatibility... This device doesnt play nicely with other things in the way of it or sharing with the same socket. This design allows for moderate sized transformers to fit side by side. Also side-ways transformers may not interfere with an open plug in when used. The LED lights on it are very dim and really not strong enough to see in daylight without shading the lights, so at night it is not glaring at all. Overall the unit has a solid feel and gives more usable outlets than any other power adapter I have seen. Only change I can think of would be more amps for the usb ports [which is 3 amps divided between three ports depending on demand]. Would rather have one of the ports dedicated to 2 amps with the other two having 1 amp each. One amp is good for older phones and newer small rechargeable devices; newer phones that have wireless or rapid charging use more amps for a quicker charge.
